Backgrounds Finished! (Well, almost)

Finally finished the backgrounds for Candy Island in what seemed like years making them! I have to go back and make a few small tweaks on some of them, but nothing major, and I should be done with them by tomorrow. I've actually fallen in love with backgrounds though, as I have really begun to appreciate just how much work goes into them and what a background should have and need. So much so, I am very interested in getting more into backgrounds after university and possibly leaning towards trying to be a background artist as a career. I still find myself an amateur, but I feel like these last couple of months I've gained quite a bit of knowledge on how to make a background; there's a definite improvement from my earlier backgrounds to the ones I have made recently, and I would like to carry that on.

Anyways, here are a couple of tests for the one layered background we have. They aren't final shots in the film, only tests to try and get the effect right and see what it will look like. The background was made in Illustrator and then textured in Photoshop, and then I imported the different layers separately into After Effects where I used a camera in a 3D space. They're not brilliant, as I need to work on the ground, but you can see the effect I'm trying to get. Here they are:
